Couples & Marriage

Talking is a fine art between two people trying to be intimate. Misunderstandings become huge sources of pain and conflict instead of opportunities for conflict resolution and clarification. Needs and desires become difficult to express calmly and confidently and thus two people who would rather care for each other become strangers or enemies. Solution: Communication techniques that remedy these and many other confusions and hurts in a relationship are rather easy to teach. Even the first awkward practice session of these communication techniques results in calmer feelings, growth in mutual respect and some problems are solved.
Techniques Taught Include:
  • Male/Female Language Decoding
  • Sound-Bite Complaining with the Goal of Solution
  • Problem-Solution Technique
  • Airing the Dirty Laundry and other Stinky Endeavors,
  • In-Laws - Learning to Tread Where Only the Brave Dare Travel
  • Sex
  • Money
  • Empathic Listening
  • Reflective Responding
Mothers & Marriage
Supermoms vs. Happy Families; Dynamic Mother and Dynamic Lover

Mothers love to take care of their children, house and spouses. Often these tasks are experienced as overwhelming. Especially mothers will fail at creating the joy, creativity and healthy they wish for their children if they strive toward perfection. Here are some very easy tips to follow:

Dynamic Mother and Dynamic Lover

Quail the urge to be Supermom. You'll burn yourself out before lunch and be cranky before the time for lovers to cuddle. Instead, wrap yourself in the pleasures and intrigues that stimulate you and your family members. Here's how.

Cleaning dishes is not one of those pleasures for most moms. Folding laundry and mopping shower walls--likely bore most. Meeting everyone's detailed desires and seeming needs can also drain you--especially if you feel like an invisible servant. These chores, if seen as chores, will rob you and your family of your beautiful motherly zeal for those you love.

What can you do?

First, assume you are naturally a loving, enthusiastic and energetic woman who wishes to stay at home to improve your family's well-being. Second, recognize and hold close to your heart the truth that a truly joyful, playful and creative mother cultivates healthier children, emotionally confident and happy children as well as fathers, and sensually alive moments with her spouse.
Third, while an orderly house that runs smoothly and neatly does improve mental clarity and harmony for most members of a family, that orderly house does not have to be a result of you being grumpy or strained. Instead, create games, competitions, team efforts and fun musical and laughing energy for you and your family members while you collectively accomplish some of the chores. Your family will enjoy any task if it's fun, warm and emotionally connected.

Also, don't forget that your friends might be available to co-op chores. That's right, gather your girlfriends and go from house to house doing the chores together as you sing, laugh, gossip and dance your way through folding their clothes or waxing your parquette floors. Cooking parts of each others' meals provides variety and ease too.

Then, in bed or before, remember you are a sensual woman whose skin can tingle when touched, hugged and caressed. Turn to another blog or article about remembering how to be a lover. Read some sexy-novel blurbs to stimulate your sexual appetite. Pretty yourself so that you find yourself attractive and playful with your man. Bring the lotion your dry skin needs to your spouse, ask for a quicky lubrication of your back or legs and close your eyes. Feel his touch (even if mechanical or tender). Make some pleasure groans to remind yourself and him that you are WOMAN. The sound and movements your make when he touches you even slightly will increase his skins sensors and make him remember how to touch you sensitively. Soak in and receive his love--which sex is for him--to refuel for the next day.

Supermom is powerful--but not always breeders of joy. Playful, lively, energetic mothers are powerful and a joy to be around--creating joyfulness as well. So enjoy being a mother--really have fun--its best for everyone.
Divorce: Sad End of Marriage
Divorce - Neither a Joy nor Solution but Sometimes Inevitable

The decision to divorce is usually a several year journey toward the decisions or actions. Perhaps you can change your path and veer back toward the relationship you need and hope for. Perhaps you will need to move forward toward divorce and be assisted during the severe conflicts and complicated decisions that await the next year or two of transitioning. Perhaps too, your children will need the help and support that you wish them to have despite the severity of conflict and changes.

We work with couples and individuals traversing this difficult path and specialize in dealing with the pragmatic and emotional concerns of separation, divorce, child custody, reuniting and recovering from divorce.

Soldiers' Medical and Psychologist Treatment

Everyone agrees that soldiers have suffered enough. We also agree that no soldier should be denied complete and free treatment for medical and psychological conditions due to their service whether here or abroad. Then why are so many soldiers having to go to extreme efforts to ensure that their complications are researched, diagnosed and consciientiously treated? There is no answer nor excuse. In modern times, since Vietnam, soldiers have been underserved, under-diagnosed and under-treated.

Audio and Video for Soldiers

Imagine facing serious depression, culture-shock, family discord, PTSD, angry outbursts, joblessness, addictions, and physical maladies. Not much of a reward for soldiers and their military families as re-unit at home. Being prepared and aware is essential as we transition our military communities.
Psychologist Dr. Carol Francis will be discussing these complications on 5 Radio Shows November 9, 10, 11, 2011. Click here for additional information, audio and video for soldiers.

Outreach Soldiers/Families

FIrst, as described in more detail in "Re-uniting Soldiers with Families," Dr. Carol Francis describes COMMUNICATION with your soldier daily or regularly if possible through all the various social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, tumbir, Myspace, Linkedin etc) so that your soldier can become immersed in the people, activities and lifestyles which you have created in his/her absence. Also, family members use as many communication tools to actually begin to bridge the gap of time and distance that may have developed. Can you Skype, use YouTube Videos or Vimeo as a means of animating your messages? Try as much as you can to enliven your presence in their lives. Let them remember family-life and see how it has changed too.

When they return, other communications tools will become crucial. "Re-Uniting Soldiers with Families" lays out many tools that will help you optimize your new life with your soldier at home. Mother's Love and Emotional Influences on Family
A Mother's Love

Mother's Job Is Never Done

Women Must Survive for Family and for Self

by Dr. Carol Francis

One primary role women play in the progression of the human species is being mother. Women have more impact on generations to come, historical events, values and ethics to be cultivated than we often recognize. Being mothers, effective mothers, is a central avenue to influencing humankind. Mothers must survive the rough times. Mothers must persevere when we are failing or being blamed. Mothers must remain excellent, stable, responsible, steady even if we are not recognized for our daily efforts.

When mothers fall apart, our families feel our distress hugely. When mothers stay strong, our families experience the sturdiness whether they know they are benefiting from our strength or not. Mothers know they need to carry the burden of dependents. Essential survival depends on mothers. Food, shelter, safety, and health for our children most often must be steered by the mother or at least overseen.

Fundamental opportunities must be seized by mothers. Providing education, emotional health, and social skills cannot be avoided by mothers if her child is to have a chance to progress in our society. Mother's must always cultivate a child's skill-building and personality strengths. Work-ethics, humane attitudes, and perseverance during tough times also must be ingrained in our children. Mothers can not lose focus that they play a key role in teaching these core attitudes.
